A Night of Hope to remember

By: Anonymous

Over the past few weeks there has been one huge tragedy after another in the news. So in many ways, the timing - God's timing - for WGTS 91.9's Night of Hope couldn't have been better. We saw over 700 people join us on Friday, October 13 at Bethel World Outreach Church in Olney, Maryland.

"It's amazing to see people come together with one purpose - to find hope," said WGTS 91.9 general manager Kevin Krueger. "It's a rough world, we need the reminder of God's presence in our lives, and that's what we left with; a sense of God's closeness to us and his love."

We were extremely blessed and honored to have We Are Messengers (Everything Comes Alive, Magnify, Point To You) with their lead singer Darren Mulligan provide the music and weave in his testimony of overcoming a life filled with drugs and heavy drinking to becoming a devoted follower of Christ as a result of his girlfriend - and now wife.

At the end, Pastor Charles Tapp of Sligo Church and heard each Saturday on Simple Truths for Life, encouraged listeners to make a decision for Christ, and many did exactly that. One 15 year-old girl shared that her mom made her come to the event, but she was touched in ways she never expected. She gave her heart to Christ.

WGTS 91.9 holds these Night of Hope events one or two times a year with sponsorship support from Adventist HealthCare to make these open to the public. Plan are already underway for the next Night of Hope, and we're looking forward to having you join us for one very soon. In the meantime, check out some of the photos from the evening below.
