That moment grooms see their bride
I think true love is a beautiful thing. It’s a love so pure it almost knocks you off your feet. This video of grooms' reaction to seeing their bride walking down the aisle for the first time really touched me. Warning: tissues may be required!
That naturally changed when the children came into the picture. (We were blessed with three beautiful, healthy children). Suddenly, there were more mouths to feed, laundry tripled, the house became messier, etc. The closest thing to a romantic evening was sitting quietly in our living room couch just for a few minutes until one of our toddlers (fighting to stay in bed) got up to say “I’m thirsty” for the 4th time. We still have a long way to go!
Our first is almost a teenager now. But, we can look back and honestly say we wouldn’t take back any of the long sleepless nights. I even LIKE our minivan! We’re learning to be intentional about keep that spark between us alive. It takes hard work. But it’s work it.
As Ephesians 4:2-3 reminds us, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
I hope this short video will bring back memories of that spark you once had with the one you loved. No matter what season your marriage is in right now, may you keep adding wood to that fire you felt on that one special day.
