The holidays can be stressful enough, but add personalities to the mix at family gatherings, and things can spiral downward quickly. There's this idea that holiday gatherings with family are supposed to be picture perfect. We'd love for them to be stress-free, joyful occasions, but that's not always reality. Relationships can be complicated, and that's true even for the people we don't see on a regular basis.
