When: January 22nd, 2017 6:00pm-8:00pm Where: Lake Ridge Baptist Church. It is estimated that at least 100,000 children are exploited in prostitution every year in the United States, with the average age of first exploitation to be around 12 years old. With the Super Bowl approaching it is estimated that the number of classified ads surrounding prostitution increases anywhere from 30 percent to 300 percent. The issue of human trafficking is not only an international problem, but a domestic problem as well. The Domestic Sex Trafficking of Minors occurs in our area. Please join us at Lake Ridge Baptist Church as we hear from Holly Orefice and Crystal Robinson, volunteers from Shared Hope International, to discuss the issues surrounding the sex trafficking of minors. This meeting to inform parents contains sensitive material; therefore it is highly encouraged that only adults attend. There will be a follow-up meeting with parents on February 19th. Three break-out sessions geared for student awareness will be offered at later dates. For more information, visit www.sharedhope.orgshare
High school girls attending Prom 2018 may come and pick out a free prom dress, jewelry, and pair of shoes! Come by Ashton Baptist Church and check out our boutique set up and enjoy a free shopping experience, snacks, and meet our amazing volunteers! The purpose of this ministry is to provide dresses, accessories, hair, makeup and nail painting to girls going to their prom/homecoming who otherwise may not have had the opportunity to go. Although inner beauty triumphs physical adornment, every girl enjoys being pampered once in a while. Prom/homecoming are both a night where every girl going will be dolled up and usually for a huge cost. By providing these services for free, our mission is to demonstrate God's love girls who may not be able to afford the dress or the salon. This is also an opportunity to get to know local girls and encourage them by reminding them of their inner beauty and that they are loved as they are.share

The meetings will take place Wednesdays April 13 to June 1 2016 at 7:00PM in the church Multipurpose Room 201 Fairview Avenue Frederick. The class will study the book of the same name Life's Healing Choices by John Baker and introduce newcomers to the Eight Principles of Celebrate Recovery and give a "quick start" overview of the program. Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps people overcome hurts hang-ups and habits. It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory. Twenty years ago Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with 43 people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Celebrate Recovery has helped more than 17000 people at Saddleback attracting over 70% of its members from outside the church. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church and nearly half serve as church volunteers. Celebrate Recovery is now in over 20000 churches worldwide.
